Saturday, 8 January 2011 John Etheridge and Sweet Chorus We regret to say that, due to a misunderstanding, one of the artists is unavailable. In consultation with John Etheridge we have decided to cancel the concert. We hope to include the group in a future series. Those who have bought tickets are being sent a refund. Virtuoso guitarist John Etheridge is currently celebrating 40 years as an active jazz performer; he’s an engaging communicator and storyteller, too. Although John can move easily between jazz genres and is equally at home with the acoustic and electric versions of the guitar, this time round he’ll be concentrating, with his violinist partner Christian Garrick, on the Django Reinhardt-Stephane Grappelli heritage. Don’t expect note-for-note recreations but look out for some soaring creativity, as the two front-liners swap ideas, bolstered by sterling support from Dave Kelbie’s rhythm guitar and bassist Andy Crowdy. |
